Just the one night – delighted to see our old friend Granville from a few weeks ago.
And Shelagh and family
And lots of great food and views.

Via Powis Castle (again), which was well worth it.
We were staying just the other side of that ridge.
And finally Shrewsbury which is well worth another look.
Sometimes you just can’t compete.
But we had a nice enough time. Forecast for Wednesday was essentially rain all afternoon so we headed off early to Llangollen. Hadn’t started when we arrived, so had a walk which was lovely.
Coffee …
Still no rain so another walk by the canal and lunch.
Still no rain, so did a detour to Oswestry which sounded lovely but wasn’t.
Still no rain so able to sit outside at the house and enjoy the fabulous view.
But, whichever way you look at it, not a patch on NE Greenland.
Just to show how close we are to Powis, here’s the view from the morning walk (right in the middle)
Montgomery is only 10 minutes away and worth a look
And Ludlow – don’t think we’ve been before.
Enjoying the temperatures of about 22 rather than 28 at home. And about 2 elsewhere!!!
August was feeling very long and very hot, so decided to head off to cooler and wetter climes for a few days.
No – not that cool, but getting some fantastic pictures from NE Greenland and whatever its delights, North Wales simply can’t compete.
First stop is always (well, 4 trips on the trot) Powis Castle which was looking it’s usual fantastic self, even in the mizzle.
Eileen found a wonderful house with rather decent views …
Talk about a last minute quick break – booked 2 days ago, arrived today, leave tomorrow. But the weather is great, and Aldeburgh is fantastic, as always.
Fabulous AirBNB – including a friend!
Fish & chips on the beach, of course.
First time I’ve ever been dive bombed – literally took the fork (plus fish) out of my hand.
And a real-life lifeboat launch.
