Joys of Travel

Cars (again). Never heard of dr – apparently an Italian badge on a Chinese car.

New trick – make sure you can’t fill up the fuel tank. First time in my life I’ve had to actually go back and fill up again (15 litres no less) at an incredibly slow dribble until definitely full (notice overflow on the ground).

And fighting (again) with hire car company who are trying to claim we caused damage that was already there.

Anyway, plenty of time for a relaxing wait at the airport – except the queue for passports was extraordinary. I’m guessing about 1/4 mile, and took an hour, so only a very hurried takeaway coffee standing in the queue.

Flight delayed.

Baggage delayed about 1/2 hour in Luton.

Couldn’t find car in car park even though I’d taken a photo (did in the end ).

So all very basic stuff but tedious.

Real Joys of Travel

Morning walk before we left.

Coffee and baguette on our balcony before we left.

No Change

Just wall-to-wall sunshine, blue skies and sea (with a couple of mountains thrown in for a bit of a change).

Antequera

On and on …

From coffee to lunch to aperitifs to dinner with the occasional siesta thrown in, it’s pretty idyllic here. Plenty more pictures.

Saturday 11th March

Still enjoying the warmth, although in all honesty it does get a bit too hot in the afternoon, but who’s complaining???

So generally mooching about, getting used to the zero parking by the beach so using the bus quite a bit. The app telling you when the next one is due is excellent, especially as the stop is just outside the apartment.

And plenty more nice pics:

Extremely pleased with the apartment

Never seen a beach/restaurants sooo busy – really hard to find anywhere for lunch. Oh the trials and frustrations we suffer …….

Wednesday 8th March – Parking and Buses

Very steep 15 minute walk to the beach, but it’s low season so it’ll be fine to park, right? Wrong. Impossible, which was a bit frustrating on our first evening when we were looking to eat.

So let’s use the bus. Technology is terrific when it works, which it does, including scanning a QR code to tell you when it’s due. Less terrific is when we bought a book of tickets and were scammed – loaded 10 trips (50p per trip by the way) rather than the 20. Went back and queried and “there was a problem with the machine ” 😂. Anyway we’re up and running.

Malaga as nice as we remember it from November 2021.

Tuesday 7th March – Malaga

Enough said!

So only booked a few days before we left. And in the process crossed one of Eileen’s absolute red lines of no ridiculously early flights by having to set our alarm for 03.45!

Surprise surprise – delay at Luton due to huge demand for de-icing machines.

And here we are

Fabulous apartment with terrific views. AND ITS WARM.
