Day 2 – Sydney

We made it to Sydney, and so for now you can only see the view from where we’re staying.  We’re still not in a fit state to be photographed.  Cremont Point is clearly one of the nicer areas of Sydney, and is also a big nature reserve.  I hesitate to say to you in the UK that it’s too hot, but it was this morning.  I’m guessing in the high 80s.
You may be able to see greying skies in the photo – it’s been blue sky until a few minutes ago and they tell us that a thunderstorm is on its way.
And finally, we’ll see if pride comes before a fall, especially for me this evening.  Eileen is feeling a bit rough after the journey, whereas I seem fine, so no jet lag for me (perhaps).

Day 2

It’s a bit confusing, but let’s call this day 2.  It’s 8th December and we’re at Sydney Airport having arrived safely from Beijing.  I had a better sleep than the night before, Eileen so so.  Anyway, it’s warm (70 degrees – just thought I’d mention it) but has been raining.

No photos – we’re a bit wrecked but in good spirits.

Day 0 part 2

So you get a ton of space in Business Class, and extremely well looked after.
More to follow – was going to write this in Beijing Airport but their wifi left a lot to be desired.
But you do get a nice little bedroom at the airport, which was terrific.

Day 0 part 1

So, we’re off.  Very nice chauffeur in a posh Mercedes picks us up on time, and no hassle getting to Heathrow.  It’s a good start, and a lovely day, albeit cold.
Then we are extremely well looked after in a luxurious lounge (and I bumped into Marcus de Sautoy in the gents!).  Eileen here being well fed on salad and prosecco, and now complains that she really fancied some cheese …
That’s it for now.  Plane leaves at 17.40 so plenty of time to get cake.

Day -1

It’s final practice day (as they say in Formula 1).  So going for technique here rather than stunning photos.  Best I could do was a grey day in St Albans – last time here until 14th January.
