Last minute. Checking on availability of accommodation and the weather (impending arrival of Storm Hannah) and have ended up for a long weekend in Norfolk.
Blakeney was the first place on our agenda for lunch and loved the skies.

Aim is for lots of walks and food.
We really didn’t want to leave, but strongly suspect we’ll be back.
Celebrations from Sunday

Monday around Holkham:

And our local coast path:

Tuesday – Blakeney.

Much of the weekend spent celebrating Shelagh’s birthday, with too much eating and a lot of drinking. Still being lucky with the weather, albeit windy. Here are a few pictures from around the house.

That is the running theme …

But apart from that we’re being pretty lucky with the weather.
Blakeney with Shelagh and Alan:

Felbrigg Hall again.

Sheringham – not looking it’s best:

Problems with podcasts in the wind. It’s fine with the gales to my back:

Headphones in, hood up so I can hear.
Problems when going the other way:

(What style though 😃). Hood blows down. Headphones blow out. And even if they don’t it’s so windy I can’t hear anyway!
A few nights away on the North Norfolk coast, so doesn’t come close to an adventure. Although we are having the fun of sharing the first couple of days with firstly Storm Freddie, followed rapidly by Storm Gareth.
Tuesday was forecast to be very wet, and it was. This is where the NT can really come into its own.
Blickling Hall kept us well occupied for a couple of hours.

Then to our little house in Weybourne.

But things looked up towards the evening as we were able to walk towards Sheringham.

Wednesday turned out brilliantly, although the photos don’t show the biting gale-force winds.
